 USTHS Chicago Logo and Theme
Not long after the
class reunion hosted by New York/New Jersey where it was announced that Chicago
would be the next host city in 2012 Flora Baetiong-Leyba, Susan Pineda-Rosal,
Sunny Santaromana-Zenarosa, Egay Justiniani, Butch Centeno, Jun Tantoco & Bobby
Salazar got together at Sunny’s residence to initially start the ball rolling in
planning the event. First on the agenda was to set the date and second was to
create a logo. Romulo “Mulong” Yambao, who had designed the previous class
reunion logos, was again commissioned to come up with a logo that would easily
recognize, symbolize, and define the group, occasion and place.
And Mulong did just that and more!
Romulo “Mulong”Yambao came up with two (2) graphic designs: one, he simply named
sears because it carried an outline of the Sears Tower (now called Willis
Tower); and the other, skyline.
Common to both designs are the following: City of Chicago in bold and colorful
letters of blue, red and yellow, the cross atop the UST Main building, the word
USTHS68, and the year 2012.
The outlines of the Sears tower, the cross atop the UST Main building, the
vibrant colors of the letters of the word Chicago, and the imposing sun remind
us that we, the graduates of USTHS68 are bearers of LIGHT, LIFE and HOPE
wherever we are and whatever we do. This design is the theme of the USTHS68 2012
class reunion to be held in Chicago.
USTHS68: Bearers of LIGHT, LIFE and HOPE. With this theme, we wish to invite you
all to come to Chicago and we’ll celebrate together how we have been and how we
are doing as Bearers of LIGHT, LIFE and HOPE in today’s world. -

2012 USA-Chicago Reunion

Plans for the 3rd USTHS'68 USA Reunion to be held in Chicago in 2012 are under
way. Batchmate Bing Macavinta, the USA Reunion Chairperson, in her email
below, reminds everyone to take part in this memorable event.
"Dear
fellow batch mates,
I can't believe that we are heading to our 3rd
USA Reunion. Our Chicago reunion committee IS working very hard to make
this, another memorable event. I hope that you will seriously consider making
this one, IF you have missed the
Las Vegas
or the
New York ones. Those who have attended can attest that it was worth the
time & expense. The website has been created, so that you can now mark your
calendar to help plan ahead. As more information becomes available, updates
will be posted and you will also meet our Chicago Organizer Team soon :)
